This is Gonna Hurt

by

Rock n roll’s ultimate bad boy prince, Nikki Sixx [founder, songwriter & bassist for hard rock group Mötley Crüe] has a new multi-media project titled “This Is Gonna Hurt“.

The first release is his book of the same name – a diary-style tome comprised of Sixx’s art photography and his musings on how his upbringing and career have brought him to see that different is beautiful [and cool :)].

The book was released in April 2011 by William Morrow/Harper Collins and is a unique & graphic trip into Sixx’s sometimes dark, but always thoughtful, mind.

The book’s dedication page reads: “This book is dedicated to my sister Lisa Marie Feranna’s life. RIP.”  And then: “For those who feel different, estranged and like the misfits of society, may this book show the world that we’re all the same.” [cool, right? FYI: Nikki helped to inspire Different Is Cool.]

The book will be followed by an album of the same name by Sixx’s musical side project, Sixx:AM [featuring James Michael and DJ Ashba], released in May, 2011.  The album’s tracks were all inspired by Sixx’s photography and accompanying stories.  The first single, Lies of the Beautiful People, is currently available for purchase on iTunes. It’s a sonic plea for everyone to look beyond a person’s outer shell and see the beauty within…[oh, and it ROCKS]
