He’s one of our founding Patrons of Cool and we want to take the opportunity to wish our friend Daniel Lanois the very happiest of birthdays. And 10 thousand more.
We are ever so happy that Dan was born – he is responsible [both individually and as a team member] for an enormous amount of the greatest rock and pop music in the past 30 years. Through his art, countless people the world over have been comforted, inspired, uplifted and changed. We don’t need to go into his myriad accomplishments, but for more info on Dan, check out our recent interview piece with him here.
And, because Dan is the gift that keeps on giving, we share his gift with YOU, via a couple of clips of DisC’s recent sit-down with the legend at his Toronto studio [a gorgeous, serene, acoustic-wonder of a converted Buddhist Temple].
Dan is one of the hardest working people ever. He lives, breathes and exists for sonics – he is in a constant state of creative connection with sound, a rare state indeed. Yes, he has been gifted with untold talent, but so have many others who, for lack of work ethic, do not achieve their potential.
In that vein, we share with you Daniel Lanois’ take on Talent & Work Ethic:
And now, a little, impromptu, masterful axe slapping from the Birthday Boy.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DAN! THANK YOU FOR SHARING YOUR GIFTS WITH US. WE LOVE YOU.
PLEASE FEEL FREE TO LEAVE YOUR BIRTHDAY WISHES FOR DAN IN THE COMMENTS SECTION. WE’LL ENSURE HE RECEIVES THEM.
